UCDavisville is a project exploring integrated media experiences that allow the UCDavis student community to connect the with the Davis resident community and culture. UCDavisville itself, is a response to direct research with the UCDavis student body in which it was revealed they felt a disconnect with the Davis community and culture, and even though they wanted one, had different ideas of what connection they wanted but had no idea on how to go about creating one. After all the research was conducted, I extrapolated three common forms of connection: Awareness of issues and events that directly and indirectly affect student life, the ability to engage the town and interact with the different cultural events, and the forming of relationships with Davis community members which would result in the deepest connection to the town.

Although the project is complete, before the experience site can be finished and put online, I am in the midst of redesigning the visuals that were made in 2006 to be current and up-to-date. This blog will track the process of that development and ultimately be replaced with the UCDavisville experience site.
